Henry William Adams, 85, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather as well as a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Bertha Adams; wife, Lois Adams; and brother, Frank (Babe) Adams. His surviving family includes children, Mike Adams and wife, Kaye, Judy Adams, and Tom Adams and wife, Beverly; sister, Helen Choplin; grandchildren, Ben Adams and wife, Lindsey, Jasmine Durham and husband, Shannon, Matthew Adams and wife, Becca, and Rose (Mimi) Adams; and great-grandchildren, Lyric Adams, Penny Durham, Domanik Reeves, and Dmitri Velez. The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff at The Oaks, the medical team of Lewis-Gale 6 west, and the entire Salem Rescue Squad for all the love and care given to Henry. A period of visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. An additional time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. A funeral service will then follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Hilton Jeffreys officiating. Interment will take place in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to either Bethel Baptist Church at 1601 S.
