Helen Dunn King

Helen Dunn King, 77, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 28, 2010. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and loved singing and playing the guitar. She was also very fond of her dog, Peanut. Preceding her in death were her parents, Less and Ruth Dunn; husband, Harry William King; brothers, Clivie, Nathan, and Jimmy Dunn; and sister, Frances Maxey. Her surviving family includes her children, Julie Sisson and husband, James, and Ronnie Baucom; grandchildren, Melissa Shepherd and husband, Eric, and Greg Sisson; great-grandchildren, Melanie Shepherd, and Jeremy and Justin; brother, Andrew Dunn and wife, Mary; sisters, Ruby Starkey and Nannie Minnick and husband, Shorty; and many other family members. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Bill Smith will officiate.
