Helen F. Arnold

Gods journey on this earth for Helen Frances Reed Arnold came to an end on October 30, 2011, as our Lord and Savior called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia Reed, her loving husband, Samuel W. Arnold, Sr., sons Samuel W. Arnold, Jr. and George L. Arnold, Sr., grandchildren Melissa and Samuel Arnold, sisters Verna Mae Scroggins, Hazel Trent and Lavon Noell, brothers Donnie, Randolph, Buck, Ed and Jerry DY Reed. Those left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are her daughter Annette Conner and her husband Larry; daughters-in-law Maxine and Paulette Arnold; grandchildren and caregivers Teresa and John Dixon, and Traci Karnes and Bob Hoffert; other grandchildren, Gina (Kevin) Hilliard, George Arnold Jr., Harry (Stephanie) Fulcher, Tonya (Dave) White, Angela (Leslie) Boggs, Shane Arnold, and Kari (Wayne) Wright; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth Gale Lynch, Hilma Nikki Cronk and Carolyn (Harry) Cartwright; and her brother Wayne (Carol) Reed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Amedisys staff for the loving and wonderful care they provided to her. Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Brother Thomas Hanks will officiate. Burial will follow at the Arnold family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM, Tuesday (today) at the funeral home.
