Hazel Roupe Altizer

Hazel Blevins Roupe Altizer, age 96, of Salem, Va. passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018. She was born on Sunday, April 16, 1922 to the late Eli and Annie Blevins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Denver Y. Roupe and Howard Altizer; children, Belinda and Jacob Roupe; numerous brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Denver D. Doc Roupe and wife, Norma, Barry L. Roupe and wife, Cheryl, and Garry Poochie C. Roupe and wife Patricia; sisters, Ella Trail and Helen Graves; brothers, Robert Blevins and Eli Blevins, Jr.; grandchildren, David, Tammy, Brent, Scott, Timothy, Nicole, Jenny, Johnathan, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Dave, Stephanie, Courtney, Jacob, Delaney. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. The family wishes to thank Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center for their kind and compassionate care during her stay.
