Hazel Williams Akers

Hazel Williams Akers, 98, of Salem, went home to be with Who she served on Thursday, July 11, 2013. She lived for God and her children. Preceding her in death were many special family members and close friends including her husband of 70 years, Roy Akers; and grandchildren, Kathy and Timothy Akers. Her surviving family includes her children, Pete Akers and wife, Betty, Martha Akers, and Martin Akers; grandchildren, Amy and Donny Williams; great-grandson, Michael Williams; and nephews and nieces, Alwood and Barbara Williams and Paul Wirt. The family would like to thank Dr. Syed Haider for all of his attention and loving care. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. There will be no period of visitation. The Akers family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, 540-389-5441.
