Harold Lee Phillips, Jr., 71, of Roanoke, but formerly of Salem, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2026, with his devoted wife, Angela, holding his hand. He was born in Waynesboro, Va., on October 1, 1955, to the late Harold Lee, Sr. and Isabelle Hughes Phillips.

Harold was never one to shy away from hard work and could build and fix just about anything. He built a career in homebuilding and construction, ultimately serving in leadership and supervisory positions within the companies for whom he worked. A longtime NASCAR fan, Harold first pulled for Bill Elliott back in the day; more recently, he would whoop and holler for Bill's son, Chase. His favorite national football team was the Denver Broncos, but during basketball season and March Madness, he was cheering for the Duke Blue Devils. Above all, he adored his wife, Angie, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Angela Vaughn Phillips; mother-in-law, Linda Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Andrea Vaughn and Nicole Vaughn; brother-in-law, Gunner Vaughn; his church family, Bethel Assembly of God in Salem; as well as many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at Bethel Assembly of God, 1683 Red Lane Ext., Salem, with Pastor Jesse Bass officiating. Family and friends are invited to stay for a reception immediately following the service.
