Gorman R. Howell, 75, of Salem, passed away at Richfield Recovery and Care Center on Friday, March 06, 2015. He was born on August 17, 1939, in Floyd Co., KY, to the late Evert and Stella Mae Howell. Mr. Howell was a very successful real estate agent, serving the industry for over 46 years. He was owner and operator of Gorman Inc., and had later joined Waldvogel Commercial Properties where he remained until his passing. He had gained numerous relationships, with colleagues and clientele alike, over the years and was well respected with in the industry. He will certainly be missed! Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 56 years, Mary Jane Howell; brother, Jerry Howell (Dianne), of New Carlisle, OH; sisters, Bobby Adiklis, of Parkersburg, WV, and Dotty Sanders (Roy), of Auburn, CA; sister-in-law, Rebecca Ferguson, of Crozet, VA; and special K-9 companion, Allie. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 5 until 7 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son funeral Home in Salem. Memorial services to honor Gormans life will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplain Gary Kingery officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nursing and medical staff at Lewis Gale Medical Center and Richfield Recovery and Care for the care and love shown during Gormans stay.
