Goldie Marie McCormack Goldie Marie McCormack, 83, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2011. She was born in Floyd, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Stella Salmon Agnew and had been a Roanoke area resident for most of her life. She was employed by Garden City School Food Service prior to retiring and loved all animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Bud McCormack. She is survived by her loving daughter, Carrie Shaver and her husband Tommy (Tuck) Shaver; two granddaughters, Rebecca Grenoble and her husband Steve; Jenna Massie and her husband Coby; a brother Ophus Agnew and his wife Lily, as well as many extended family members and friends. Burial will be at 1:00 PM Friday, July 1, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial Park with memorial services to follow at 2 PM in the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. Chaplain Marvin Barbre and Pastor Terry Mabry will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM, Thursday at the funeral home. The family deeply appreciates care given by Betty Montgomery, Dr. Murchinson, Dr. Rosenoff, Dr. Inge, as well as Jane and Marvin from Good Samaritan Hospice.
