Gloria French Bowling

Gloria Huffman Bowling, 83, of Salem, VA went to be with the Lord Friday, January 27, 2017. Gloria was a member of CommUNITY Church in Salem. She was a creative woman who liked making crafts and loved to color in her coloring books. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Thelma Huffman; her husband, Moorman Bowling; three brothers and one sister. She is survived two daughters, Ruth Meade and husband, Benny and Marie Thomas and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Bobby Bryson, Benny Meade, Jr. and Crystal Goodwin and husband, Jason; great-grandson, Jason Goodwin, Jr.; niece, Lisa Huffman; and beloved pet, Missy. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at CommUNITY Church with Pastor Tom McCracken, III officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. The family would like to give special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at Roanoke Memorial for their dedication and compassion given to Gloria.
