Gladys Bayne Driscoll

Gladys Bayne Driscoll of Roanoke, VA passed away Monday, June 04, 2012. She was born in Roanoke County, VA a daughter of the late Charles Cleveland and Margaret Velma Harrison Bayne. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick L. Driscoll; son, Michael Billy Driscoll; four brothers, Wallace Bayne, Lawrence Nelson Bayne, Lewis Allen Bayne and beloved brother, Jack Darden Bayne and his surviving sons, Jack and Jere who helped her and provided her loving comfort after the death of her husband. Mrs. Driscoll worked for Stonegate Swim Club, Peacock Salem, Loch Haven, Fairland Country Club, and Dairy Queen. She was a member of Edgewood Christian Church. She is survived by her sons, Danny Lee Driscoll and wife Beverly, Roger Wallace Driscoll and wife Donna and Larry Noel Driscoll and wife Linda; daughter-in-law, Debbie Driscoll; sister, Geraldine Manning and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Ryan Driscoll, Heather Schilling, Josh Altiveto, Eric Driscoll, Gregg Driscoll and Matthew Driscoll; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Driscoll was very a unselfish mother who denied many pleasures in life to make sure that her family was always taken care of first. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem with Rev. Troy Mays officiating. There will be no visitation. The family on behalf of their mother and themselves would like to acknowledge and thank Patty Beasley and her friends for the care they provided to Gladys during her final days of life. John M.
