Geraldine "Jerry" Bedwell

Geraldine (Jerry) Neaves Bedwell, 87, went to be with loved ones, peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born in Fries, Virginia on March 14, 1937. Jerry will be welcomed and protected by those who preceded her in death, her parents, Glen and Jessie Neaves; her brother, Junior Neaves; her son, Todd Neaves Bedwell; and her granddaughter, Molly Bedwell. Jerry is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Roy F. Bedwell; two sons, Roy Michael Bedwell, and Derrick Bedwell; grandchildren, Jessica Bedwell Setchel, Caleb Bedwell, Paige Bedwell, Dylan Bedwell, and Daniel Bedwell; great-grandchildren, Zabian Setchel, Adric Setchel and Leia Bedwell. She also had a wonderful circle of amazing and supportive friends who were too numerous to mention by name. Jerry will be remembered as being a bright, funny, and positive person. She poured her heart and soul into everything she did. She spent over 32 years guiding and nurturing the minds and hearts of children while working in the Roanoke County school system, as well as loving and caring for her family. Services will be held to honor Jerrys memory on Friday, June 28, 2024, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, 305 Roanoke Blvd, Salem Va. The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.; services to follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Ben Lockhart officiating.
