Georgia E. Prillaman

Georgia E. Prillaman, 70, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2010. She was a member of the American Business Association and enjoyed her time volunteering as a scout leader. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, crafts, reading, and fishing. Preceding her in death were her parents, George W. and Atta Elizabeth Glass; son, Michael D. Prillaman, and sister, Ruth Glass Witt. Her surviving family includes her husband of 51 years, Joe A. Prillaman; sons, George Allen Prillaman and Mark Anthony Prillaman and wife, Tracy; sister, Amelia Louise Glass Miller; grandchildren, Samantha Nicole Skipwith, Christopher Allen Prillaman, Timothy Allen Prillaman, Brittany Anne Prillaman, and Rachel Haley Prillaman; great-grandson, Peyton Skipwith; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean Prillaman; and caregivers, Teresa Firebaugh, Pam Huff, Jennie Garrett, and Mary Jo Burris. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 1, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery in Salem. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in Georgias name may be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research at 2840 Electric Road Suite 10-A in Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
