George Jeff Trail Sr.

George Jeff Trail, Sr., 80, of Boones Mill, Va., passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.

George was a hard-working man who took great pride in providing for and spending time with his family, who meant the world to him. He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting, and fishing. Known for his sense of humor, he loved telling jokes, making people laugh, and bringing joy to those around him. His strong work ethic, love for his family, adventurous spirit, and ability to brighten any room with his laughter were qualities that made him truly special.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lynn (Maw) Trail; brothers, Danny Trail, Timmy Trail, and Steve Trail; sisters, Joyce Trail and Freda Gibson; and oldest son, Leslie Dean Trail.

His surviving family includes his wife, Deana Trail; children, George Trail, Jr., Josh Richards, April Brown, Victoria Brown, and Beth Brown; grandson, Austin Trail; great-granddaughters, Lydia Trail and Lennox Trail; and beloved pet, Chester.

Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. A funeral service will then begin at 4 p.m. with Michael Saul officiating. He will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Sherwood Memorial Park.
