Gary M. Owen

The family of Gary M, (Otis) Owen, 71, of Salem, Va., is saddened to announce that he passed away on July 23, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospice surrounded by his family.

Gary was born in Springfield, Ohio to Robert and Helen Owen on 12 May 1955 and graduated from Glenvar High School in 1973. He worked as the building maintenance man for PBG Bottling for 21 years before he retired. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting guns and a good Irish whiskey, but most importantly, he enjoyed time with his family.

Gary was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Buck and Helen and is survived by his wife Jena of Salem; Children Callie Corrigan, of Lynchburg, Caleb Owen of Forest, Justine Cain (Corey) of Roanoke; Brother, Tom King (Chrissy) of Salem, Patty Haley of Huddleston, Sandy Ransome (Jay) of Bedford, Glen Helm, Texas, Gwen” Duckie” Clements Carr, Chester, Debra “Tuffy” Clements Chestnutt (JR), Petersburg, Kay Brady (Tim) Fincastle, Mike King of Salem, and Donna. Survived by his grandchildren, Teagan, Aiden, Logan and Harper.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Lewis Gale Neuro Trauma ICU and the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Good Samaritan Hospice in remembrance of Gary.
