Fredona Lawson 'Freddie' Jones

Fredona Lawson Freddie Jones, age 81, of Roanoke, Va. passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was born on Wednesday, September 9, 1936 to the late Arnold L. and Kate Garnand Lawson. She was a loving mother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Hersel L. Lawson; and sister, Verlon Leonard. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Stormy Iseson, and Dawn Jones and partner, Teka Austin; granddaughter, Jennifer D. Adams and husband, Joshua; great-grandson, Hunter Adams; brother, Jerome Lawson and wife, Carolyn; sisters, Orlanda Friddle, and Dorita Dowdy; sister-in-law, Joyce Lawson; brother-in-law, Carl E. Sonny Leonard; numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 12 p.m. 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
