Frances Delane Rogers

Frances Delane Rogers, 72 of Roanoke County, Va, loving wife, mother, memaw, and great grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by all her loved ones into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Frances was born Thursday, May 29, 1952, in Dunns, West Virginia to the late Elzie E. Cox and Goldie Sneed Cox. She was a true coal miner's daughter; she grew up in Michigan in her childhood years until she moved to Florida, this is where she met the love of her life John. They were married in Florida and traveled to many states and counties together. While John was in active service she settled down in Salem, Virginia.

Frances enjoyed traveling the world and cherishing moments with her family. She loved telling and exchanging stories, dedicating all her time to caring for her loved ones.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband and love of her life John Thomas Rogers, III after 51 years of marriage; children, Crystal McDowell (Roby), Jackie T.L. Rogers (Cegal); her siblings, Betty Shewsberry, Barbara Finn, Dorothy Gardner, Shirley Mason; grandchildren, Megan Atkinson (Jake), Cody Shelton, Caleb Shelton (Sammie), Jesse Rogers (Ariel), Jamie Rogers (Kallie); great-grandchildren, Briley, Michael and Reagan Atkinson, Ava and Vivian Rogers, Cheyenne and Evie McDowell.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant daughter My Lady Frances Ann; sister Debbie Jean Cox and her brothers, Jackie Cox and James Cox.

A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Prior to the graveside service, a visitation period will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home located in Salem, VA.
