Frances Jean Lawrence

Frances Jean Atkins Lawrence, 80, of Charlottesville, VA formerly of Roanoke, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was born on February 20, 1944, to the late Alonzo Atkins and Jean Cogburn Atkins in Gadsen, AL. Frances was an educator in the Roanoke Valley, teaching at various schools throughout her career. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Marlan Garretson Cogburn; brother, Lon Atkins; and one son, Dean Lawrence. She is survived by her daughter, Fran Higgins and husband, Mark; son, Raymond Lawrence and wife, Lydia; grandchildren, Jordon Higgins and Evan Ward; and a brother, Charlie Atkins.
