Frances Mcdaniel Douthat

Frances M. Douthat, 92, of Salem, VA passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was born September 21, 1918 in Salem, VA daughter of the late Jasper Luke and Ora Thomas McDaniel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Douthat; and a daughter, Mary Ann Douthat Sisson. Mrs. Douthat was a retired bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward. She is survived by her sister, Ruth McDaniel Showalter; son-in-law, Reggie Sisson; grandchildren, C. R. Sisson, III and wife, Diana and Sonya St. Jacques; and great-granddaughter, Rosemary St. Jacques. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Friday, January 7, 2011 from the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Rev. Ron Young officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
