Frances Estelle Dillard

Frances Estelle Dillard, 89, of Stuart, VA and formerly of Salem, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian C. Dillard; and sister, Louise Underwood. Frances was a member of First Christian Church of Salem, where she sang in the choir. She was also a volunteer at Richfield Recovery and Care center in Salem. Family left to cherish her memory include her children, Jeff Dillard (Patty) and Carole Wheeler (Neil); grandchildren, Anthony Dillard (Kristen), Erin Dillard, Angela Bainter (Patrick), and Betsy Wheeler; and four great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express special thanks to the nursing staff at Landmark Retirement Center and Blue Ridge Therapy Connection for their love and care. A funeral service to honor Frances life will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015 at John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, with Pastor Neil Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
