Frances Williams Bevil

Frances Williams Bevil, 84, of Salem, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015. She was born in Wytheville, a daughter of the late John C. and Bettie Shelburne Williams and had been an area resident most of her life. She was a 26 year, dedicated employee of Wal-Mart in Salem and enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray J. Bevil, who died in 2005, and by two brothers, Clarence and Johnny Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Stevens; a son, Garry Bevil and wife Carol; four grandchildren, Kristen Bevil, Jason Bevil, Bettie Stevens and Jeffrey Stevens; a great-grandson, Christian Stevens; and four brothers, Samuel Williams and wife Naomi, Garnett Williams, Raymond Williams and wife Arlinda, and William Williams. A graveside service will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Roy Kanode will officiate.
