Everett Elwood "Woody" Holt

Everett Elwood Woody Holt, 52 of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from Lewis-Gale Medical Center, in Salem. A beloved son to his mother, Wanda Sue Holt, of Salem, was preceded in death by his father, Everett Edgar Holt. Woody was also the beloved brother of his brother, James Holt and sisters, Melinda Neighbors and Tammy Roar. Other family remaining to cherish his memory includes numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Anyone that knew Woody knew of his strong work ethic. He was employed with Valleydale Packing, prior to their closure, for 10 plus years working in the plant as well as the lab. Following the closure, he decided to drive semis, staying on the road for several years before finally deciding that he would prefer staying local. For a short period of time, he became employed with Kroger at Lakeside, then landing his feet at Rowe Furniture, also in Salem, manufacturing furniture. Above all, Woody will be remembered as a very loving and kind man that had an extremely warm heart and would literally give you his last dime if he knew you were in need.
