Evelyn Bohon Saul

Evelyn Bohon Saul, 90, of Salem, VA passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011. She was born August 31, 1920 in Roanoke County, VA a daughter of the late Arch Dean and Juanita Murdock Bohon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Saul; granddaughter, Julie Ann Gresham; five brothers and one sister. Mrs. Saul was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She retired from City of Salem Commissioner of Revenue with 17 years of service and worked 13 years prior to that for the Roanoke County Commissioner of Revenue. She served as Vice Chairman for the City of Salem Electoral Board for nine years. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by four daughters, Norma and Charles Wassum, Judy and James Gresham, Twila and Glenn Turner and Cindy and Donald Manning; grandchildren, Vanessa and Andy McArthur, Angela and Jeff Emery, James and Loretta Gresham, Alison Sledd, Matthew Turner, Brant Turner and friend, Christan, Joseph and Dana Berenbaum, Candi Manning and Kevin and Sandy Manning; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Amy McArthur, Jacob and Joseph Emery, Jim II and Rachel Gresham, Caleb and Anna Sledd, Taurys Turner, Tate and Taylor Berenbaum and Amber Manning; brothers, Jack and Edith Bohon, Leroy and Pat Bohon, John and Barbara Bohon; sisters, Ruby and Carl Pugh, Betty and George Hill, Sadie and Tom Bishop and Joyce and James Legg; sisters-in-law, Judy Bohon and Joan Bohon; and numerous dear nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem 540-389-5441. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, January 14, 2011 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Kier officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made Salem Baptist Church.
