Eula F. Hodges Jacobs

On Sunday, September 16, 2018, Heaven gained a special angel when Eula F. Hodges Jacobs, 93, of Trinity, NC, formerly of Salem, Va., peacefully joined the love of her life, Charles L. Dink Hodges. She was born on November 30, 1924, to the late Robert and Sadie Fields. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Dink Hodges and Marvin "Jake" Jacobs; and a brother, Robert June Fields Jr. She left her home in Honaker, Va. at the age of 16 and moved to Salem where she met and married Dink. She was a devoted homemaker while raising their three daughters. She later was employed at Richfield Nursing Home for over 19 years where she loved and was loved by her patients. She will be remembered for her gentle loving nature, her love for family and life, the pride she took in her appearance, her love for Alfred Dunner clothing, and her beautiful blue eyes. Left to mourn her passing are her three daughters, Jeannie Kennedy (Kermit), Brenda Davis (Matt), and Charlotte Thornton (Al); three grandsons, Darren Logwood, Josh Hollifield, and Chris Hollifield (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Camron Logwood, Samantha Logwood, and Hunter Hollifield; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Fields; and numerous other family members. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating.
