Esther Moore

Esther Collins Moore, 92, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

She was born on December 2, 1932, in Saltville, Va., to the late Lowe and Clara Belle Lyles Collins. Later in life she worked at Stuart McGuire.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her grandparents, Drue and Ella Dye Collins and James and Susie Delp Lyles; husband, Melvin M. Moore; and siblings, Garland "Speck" Collins, Junior "Schoonie" Collins, Eugene Collins, Roger "Zeke" Collins, and Linda Diane Collins Fox.

Her surviving family includes her children, James Moore (Sharon), Judy Hawks (Rodger), Julia Hodges (Ernie), and Brenda Seib Chastain; siblings, Louise "Sis" Cannon, Sandra Sullins, Betty Flock, Billy "Vick" Collins (Pat), and Shirley "Lund" Collins (Shawna); sister-in-law, Norma Collins; grandchildren, Jimmy Moore (Kristy), Gary R. Moore, T.J. Seib (Nita), Stephen Seib, and Diana Hodges; and great-grandchildren, Sam Moore, Jennifer Moore, Ryan Moore, Emilee Seib, Sayan Seib, Jayce Hodges, and Kaylena Hodges.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. A funeral service will then begin at 2 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
