Emory Ferrell Perdue, 77, of Salem passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010. He was born in Roanoke, VA on January 8, 1933 and was the son of the late Loyd and Lula Perdue. He was a longtime member of Salem Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Saul Perdue; son, Kevin Perdue and wife Sheila of Frisco, TX; two daughters, Sharon Wilson of Chester and Gina Light and husband Larry of Chesterfield County; two grandsons, Charlie CD Polumbo and Brandon Light; and two great grandsons, Christian and Tyler Polumbo. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at East Hill Cemetery, Salem with Ministers Eric Evans and David Workman officiating. Please enter the cemetery by way of Virginia Avenue. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Salem Church of Christ, Building Fund, 401 West Main Street, Salem, VA 24153.
