Emory Edward Hall, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Emory was a lifetime resident of Salem, VA. He worked for Hart Motor Company for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. He was a diehard Salem Spartans football fan. Emory was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Harry Hall; brother, William Billy Hall; sister, Virginia Parris; and first wife, Madeline Hall. Emory is survived by his wife, Penny Hall; children and stepchildren, Harold Stull, Robert Stull, Richard Stull, Anthony Spencer, Amanda Garcia, and their spouses; brother, Oscar Hall; sisters, Polly Crone, Barbara Harris, Shirley Vorst, and their spouses; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a very special and dear cousin, Ruth Wade; and special K-9 friend, Peaches. The family would like to thank Hart Motor Company for their kindness and support. Special thank you to all involved in his care. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the funeral homes chapel. The Rev. Jim Herron will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
