Emma Lagerholm Reich, 91, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 6, 2015. She grew up in the Lutheran Childrens Home, and was a longtime member of College Lutheran Church in Salem. Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Minnie Lagerholm; husband, Paul B. Reich, Jr.; brothers, Carl and Eddie Lagerholm; and granddaughter, Paula Hovatter. Her surviving family includes her children, Beverly R. Hovatter and Milton L. Reich and his wife, Linda; sisters, Edith L. Vance and Ruth L. Reich and her husband, Louis; granddaughters, Jeannie, Kim, and Amy; and 7 great-grandchildren. The family expresses a sincere thanks to the CCU staff at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center as well as those at Snyder Nursing Home that cared for her so lovingly. A period of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will then follow at 1 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Wynemah Hinlicky officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad at 201 South Broad Street in Salem, Va. 24153 or to a favorite charity.
