Elwood Harvey Journell

Elwood Woody Harvey Journell, age 69 of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2011. Mr. Journell was born on June, 5, 1941 to the late Edward & Eula Journell. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include his Son, Mark Journell; one daughter, Mary Kirk & boyfriend DeWayne Law; one sister, Edna Palmer & husband Billy, and two grandchildren, Brittney Journell and Kyndra Shumaker. The family would also like to express their thanks to Mr. Journells loving caretakers, Sharon, Sarah, & Yvette, and the entire staff of Good Samaritan Hospice. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, January 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Burial Park, in Roanoke with the Chaplain Marvin Barbre officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 30, 2011, from 2 until 4 p.m., at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
