Eloise Sowers Wells, also known as Mom, Maw Maw, Grandma, and everyones Granny, 86, of Salem, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 7, 2019.
She worked for and retired from Home Shopping Network, formerly known as Stuart McGuire, and also volunteered at the Salem Food Pantry. She attended Lakeside Baptist Church for years, and visited the Salem McDonalds every day.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Ruth S. Simmons Reid; father, William Eddie Sowers; special love, Larry Wayne Wells; brothers, Lawrence Lee Sowers and Archie Reid; and son, William Andrew Flanagan.
Her surviving family includes children, Estelle Marie Mattox and husband, James D., Jr., and Johnny Lester Flanagan and wife, Martha; grandchildren, Kelley and Carrie Flanagan, Caron and Scott Flanagan, and Hannah Mattox; several great-grandchildren; special adopted grandson, TC Pruett; and best friend, Dorothy (Dot) Weeks.
Family and friends may gather from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service celebrating her life will then begin at 7 p.m. with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating.
