Ellen Mt. Cassell Thurman

Ellen Mt. Cassell Thurman, 81, of Salem, VA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Born in Salem, on May 22, 1941, she is the daughter of the the late Samuel and Lula Hodge Mt. Cassell. Ellens greatest joy was being a homemaker and staying home to raise her children. She was a wonderful and godly wife and mother to her family and a beautiful friend and loving mentor to so many, especially her church family at Wabun Revival Center. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband, William Thurman; children, Dixie Burdett and husband, Jeff, Janet Feazell, and husband, Clarence, and Donald Thurman and wife, Dana; grandchildren, Brittany Hollingsworth and husband, Andrew, Kelli Ayers and husband, Zach, Ashleigh Burdett, Brooke Thurman, Heather Thurman, and Clay Feazell; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Aubrie, Lacey, and Cooper Hollingsworth, and Henry Ayers, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Living Well Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Andrew Draughn and Steve Parker officiating. Interment immediately following in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
