Ellen Louise Keene

Ellen Louise Keene, 65, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. She was born on July 8, 1947 in Buchanan County, VA and was a Salem area resident for 46 years. She loved strawberries, and enjoyed painting and drawing. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Ellis Cantrell. Family left to cherish her memory include her mother, Jeanette Bucklen Cantrell; sons, Harold Keene, R.B. Keene, Markus Keene and his wife Crystal, and Paul Keene; daughter, Beverly Keene; brothers, Jeff Cantrell and Greg Cantrell and his wife Dookie; sisters, Cheryl Smith and her husband Tom, Jennifer Rife and her husband Ralph, Althea Hicks and her husband Larry, and Marsha Blankenship; seven grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2 PM to 4 PM at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem and on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 12 PM to 2 PM at Loggy Bottom Church, Rt. 638 in Pilgrims Knob, VA, with funeral services beginning at 2 PM.
