Ella Louise Mcconnell

Ella L. McConnell, a resident of Salem, Va passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010. Ms. McConnell, originally of Tazewell, Va, was preceded in death by her father, mother and three sisters. She is survived by her siste,r Gracie M. Poff of Salem and 3 nephews. Ms. McConnell was a graduate of Mary Washington College and dedicated 3 years of service to her country during and after World War II working for the Office of War Information. Ms. McConnell retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co., was an active volunteer at Lewis-Gale for over 20 years, and was a member of the Second Presbyterian church in Roanoke. A grave side service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 2nd at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rescue Mission of Roanoke.
