Ella Estelle Laprad

Ella Estelle LaPrad, 87, of Salem, VA passed away Saturday, September 04, 2010. She was born December 17, 1922 in Bedford County, VA daughter of the late Jasper R. and Audrey Carter Orange. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Aradian D. Heck and Robert D. LaPrad; sons, Steve W. Heck and Aradian W. Heck; siblings, Thelma Orange, Basil Orange, Nellie Overstreet, Helen O. Wood, and Saford F. Orange. Mrs. LaPrad enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and landscape. She loved riding with her husband on numerous trips as he was employed as a truck driver. She is survived by her son, Junior D. Heck and wife, Virginia; daughter, Judy Brown; sisters, Frances Orange, Shirley Arrington, Lois Dye, and Betty Reno; brother, Russell Orange; daughter-in-law, Goldie Heck; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Rev. Sam Huntley officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday evening at the funeral home. 540-389-5441. Service Details.
