Elijah Carter Stowers, 39 days old, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Baby Elijah was a sweet little soul, his smile was infectious, and every moment was just as precious. His life here on earth started with a struggle, but he was a fighter. He had his fathers strength and courage, as well as his mothers smile helping him every step of the way. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him or witnessing his sweet smile. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and father, Matthew John Stowers and Hannah Virginia Young; grandparents, Raymond Joseph Stowers, Marla Kay McNeely, Anne Lynn Blevins, and Michael Barry Young; great grandfather, Richard Thomas; as well as his brother, Oakley John Stowers. A private family memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A time of visitation will be held for the family privately prior to the service. Pastor Mitchell Semones will be officiating.
