Elaine Lawrence Alderson

Elaine Lawrence Alderson, 72, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012. She was retired from Kroger, and since then enjoyed painting and photography in her spare time. Her church membership was held at Bethel Baptist Church in Salem. Preceding her in death were her parents, Albert M. and Hortense K. Lawrence; and husband, Robert (Bob) A. Alderson. Her surviving family includes her son, William (Bill) A. Alderson and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Grant A. Alderson and Erika G. Alderson; and stepdaughters, Debbie Oveisi, Carole Williamson, and Barbara Mullins as well as their families. Elaines family extends a special thanks to her Abigail Sunday School class as well as to her special cousin, Ruth Wade, for all the visits, prayers, and support. A period of visitation will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel with Rev. Hilton Jeffreys officiating.
