Edme Merle-Perez

Edme Merle-Perez, 38, of Roanoke and formerly of Tampa, Fla., went to be with the Lord and now is at peace. She was born on Thursday, December 14, 1978, to Sara Perez-Torres. Edme was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sara Maria Torres-Lisboa; daughter Leilani Rose James; and two lovely cats that she adored, Pete and Numbs. She is survived by her sons, Elijah Rodriguez, William Alexander, and Jordan Alexander; daughters, Sara Alexander, and Lydia Nystrom; her mother, Sara Perez-Torres; brother, Tony Merle-Perez, Sr. and wife, Stacy; nephews, Tony Merle, Jr. and Sabdiel Merle; niece, Gigi Merle; special friend, Lavainia Graves; and special canine companion Bella. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will then begin at 4 p.m. in the funeral homes chapel with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating.
