Edith G. Wallace, 64, of Elliston, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019. Edith was devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to a decade of work with Montgomery County Public Schools at Elliston Lafayette Elementary School, she also served as PTA president, a volunteer for the SHARE food program, and a teacher's assistant for adult education classes. Through the lasting impact she made on those lives, she is survived by not just her family, but a whole generation of her community. She is preceded by her brothers, Doug, Jackie, and Frank Wilcher; and her father, Gilbert Wilcher. Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Donald Wallace; sons, Donnie and Dusty Wallace; sister, Carol Clark; mother and stepfather, Betty and Tommy Walton; and four grandchildren, Sidney, Sadie, Elijah, and Crispin Wallace; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, from 6-8:00 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, 305 Roanoke Blvd. Salem, VA 24153. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
