Edgar Clifton "Ed" Porter

Edgar Clifton Porter, age 72, of Salem, Virginia was promoted to glory on Sunday, June 5, 2022. He was born August 14, 1949, to the late Thomas Warren and Gladis Udora Bryant Porter. Edgar lived in Salem, Virginia with his sister Linda. He will be dearly missed. Many would say that he was the luckiest man on earth to have had the best sister! He worked for the City of Salem Beautification Department for 23 years and 11 months. He is survived by his sister, Linda Faye Porter; brothers, Thomas Wayne Porter, William David Porter, James Herbert Porter; and numerous family and friends. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Virginia.
