Dylan Lewis Martin, Dyl-Pickle, 17, of Catawba, passed away Sunday August 31, 2014 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Dylan was a recent graduate of Glenvar High School, and was employed by Montgomery Publishing/ Salem Times Register, and also ran his own business, Martin Landscaping. Dylan loved hunting, fishing, working at the barn and just being outdoors. He loved life and lived life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Brenda Martin, and Jean Kearns Thompson.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Paula Martin of Catawba; a brother, Dustin Thompson of Catawba; grandparents, Barry and Norma Thompson of Salem, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and his best friend, Richard Goodwin. Dylan is also survived by his loving pets, Max, Bingo, Ruby, Sally, Socks and Buckshot.
Services will be held at 11AM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
