Dreama Abbott

Dreama Ruth Bryant Abbott, 71, went to be with family in heaven on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Dreama was born to the late Earl Raymond Bryant and Ramona Ellen Sowers Bryant on Sunday, August 29, 1954. Her life was marked by kindness, compassion, and love. Dreama had a special appreciation for the beauty of flowers, and she loved animals, particularly her cats and beloved dog, Chance. She loved her family more than anything, and she found the greatest joy in doing any act of service that showed how much she cared for the people she loved. Those who Dreama touched in life, especially her cherished family and friends, will miss her deeply.

In addition to her parents, Dreama was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Frankie Beardmore; and her maternal grandparents, Dewey and Kenna Sowers.

Left to treasure Dreama's memory are her husband of forty-six years, Paul Alvin Abbott; sons, Matthew Bryant Abbott and Paul Alvin "George" Abbott; daughters, Rosaline "Rosebud" Melki-Russeau (Dustin) and Leah Catherine Smith; five grandchildren; special friends, Shannan Griffith, George Melki, and the Yopp Family; and a host of extended Abbott family members.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Va.

Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.
