Douglas Lynn Lancaster

Doug Lancaster, 63, of Salem, Va., passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Marion and Everett Lancaster. Doug is survived by his sister, Donna Lancaster, and her partner, B.J. Bailey. He is also survived by his good friend, Duane Wheeling, and his wife, Katie, who was always there for him. Doug graduated from Andrew Lewis High School and Virginia Tech with a degree in architecture and became a Registered Architect. He worked in Roanoke, Va., Beach and northern Virginia where he worked on projects at the Pentagon and Dulles airport. Growing up, Doug played little league baseball and varsity baseball at Andrew Lewis. His love of baseball continued and he became a steadfast fan of his St. Louis Cardinals. Donna and Duane would like to thank the nursing staff in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Lewis-Gale Hospital for their wonderful and compassionate care, especially Gretchen Luke. In Doug's memory, please do an act of kindness for others. There will be no service.Interment Location
