Douglas Kingery, 71, of Suffolk, Va., passed away on Monday, December 1, 2015 at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk. Doug was born on March 17, 1944 in Roanoke, Va. and was the son of the late Elwood and Ruth Kingery. He is survived by his longtime partner of 26 years, Wayne Watts of Suffolk, Va; two sons, David Kingery and wife, Jessica, and Andrew Kingery and wife, Rhonda; and five grandchildren, Nicole Kingery, Tiffany Kingery, Kendra Kingery, Jonathan Renz, and Jordan Renz, all of Roanoke, Va. Doug is also survived by his twin brother, Dan Kingery and wife, Lee, of Dover, Del.; a sister, Carole Johnson and husband, Charles, of Norfolk, Va.; a cousin, Michael Kingery and wife, Karen, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; nephews, Craig Kingery and Jonathan Kingery; and a niece, Erin White. Doug was a 36-year Educator and School Administrator and worked in Indiana, Roanoke Co., Va., Montgomery Co., Va., and Virginia Beach City School systems. He was a longtime member of the Harborview Owners Association having served as its president for a number of years, and was past president of the Linkside Cove Condominium Owners Association in Suffolk. Friends may offer condolences to the family from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach and also from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Va. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 in the Old Dominion Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Roanoke, Va.
