Dorothy Elizabeth Brumbaugh Covell

Dorothy Elizabeth Brumbaugh Covell, 84, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013. Dottie was very artistic in her younger years and graduated from the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL. She worked for many years at Hutzlers Department Store in Baltimore, MD and later at several nursing homes in the Salem area. Preceding her in death were her parents, Marshall F. and Monelle Old Brumbaugh; husband, Spencer Covell; and aunt, Lelia G. Old. She is survived by her cousins, Elinor Old of Salem, Jean Trent of Roanoke, and Anne Brumbaugh of New York, NY. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke. The Covell family is being served by John M.
