Dorothy G. Angell

Dorothy (June) Angell, 82, of Salem, went to her heavenly home to join her beloved husband, John T. Angell, on Monday March 4, 2013. She was born in Cave Spring,a daughter to the late, Leonard and Samantha Pearline Vess. Dorothy was a life long resident of this area, along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur, Carl, Elmer, Pauline, and Elizabeth. Dorothy was a devoted, wife, mother, and grand-mother, and was loved by all who knew her, she attended Calvary Baptist Church in her earlier time, and she worked some outside the home, but she loved the full time position of being a homemaker and caregiver to her family. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Barry Wayne Angell, his wife Sherry, Ronny Taylor Angell, his wife Pattee, five grand-children, Ronny Taylor Angell, John P. Angell, Jennifer Lynn Angell, Eric S. Angell, Barri Laura Shifflett, six great-grandchildren, Kenny, Allyssa, Alexander, Shawn, Mathieu, and Taylor, an expected great great-grandchild, Skylyn Brooke Gilmore, several step grand-children, including, Kristin, and James Gray, along with a host of nieces and nephews. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service to honor the life of Dorothy (June) Angell will take place on Thursday March 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM, in the funeral homes chapel with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool, officiating.
