Doris Flinchum Poff, fondly known as Grannymoo, 84, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013. She was born on December 26, 1928, a daughter of the late John Leslie Flinchum and Ida Gearheart Flinchum and had been a Salem area resident all of her life. Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active and long time member of Bethel Baptist Church and was beloved by many in that fellowship. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, sewing and crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Poff; her son, Ronald C. Poff; a sister Elsie Flinchum English, and her brother, Herman Sleepy Flinchum. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Wintermeyer and husband Butch; Lisa Bain and husband Mark; daughter-in-law, Cheryl M. Poff; grandchildren, Ryan Poff, and Stephen and Kerri Bain; a brother, Robert Flinchum, and her granddog, Beamer. Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Abbey Chapel of Sherwood Memorial Park. The Revs. Hilton Jeffreys and Ivey Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Thursday at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
