Doris K. Montgomery

Doris Kirby Montgomery, 77, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010. She was one of the G.T. girls from South Salem, and was also a member of First Christian Church (DOC) in Salem. Preceding her in death were her parents, Cline W. and Edith Kirby; and husband, Posey L. Montgomery, Jr. Her surviving family includes her children, Carol O. Clarkson and husband, Marshall, Judith Wright Smith, Matthew Wright Atkinson, and Jeffrey C. Mitchell and wife, Sherri; grandchildren, Marsha Burton and husband, Mike, Marie Bertin, Aubrey Smith, Allison Clarkson, Kathleen Elizabeth Atkinson, Christina Margaret Atkinson, and Jedediah Grannys Little Man Mitchell; great-grandsons, Blake and Logan Hungerford; and extended family members, Rodrigo Callejas, John Hungerford, Virginia Gilleland, and Rick Smith. A period of visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park in Roanoke. The Rev. Dan Netting will officiate.
