Doris Jones Manning

Doris Jones Manning of Salem, Virginia, passed away December 1, 2010 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents Edwin and Ethel Hockett Jones of Salem. She is survived by a son Kevin Scott Manning and wife Sandra; one granddaughter Amber Hancock of Salem. Also surviving, a sister Carol Jean Nunnally and husband Bill; one nephew Will Nunnally and wife Shannon, children Adam, Logan and Madeline of Salem; and one niece Kristen N. Bidwell and husband Christopher of Falls Church, Virginia. Surviving also are her former husband, Donald L. Manning and wife Cindy; cousins Nancy McManaway, Beth Sample of Salem; Max Jones and wife Pat, Troutville and JoeAnn Frier Ward, Trinity, North Carolina. In addition to her family she is survived by many friends and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 Friday, December 3 at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. Services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with the Reverend Bobby Pickle officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Sherwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 800, Washington DC 20004 or the charity of your choice.
