Doris Dehart Epperly

Doris Marie DeHart Epperly, 83, went to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 11, 2025. She was a longtime resident of Elliston, Virginia.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Tipton and Nellie Bell Jones DeHart; husband, Linwood D. "Bussy" Epperly, Sr.; son, David Allen Epperly; and brothers, Jack L. DeHart, George R. DeHart, Walter Lee DeHart and Donald L. DeHart.

Doris is survived by her son, Dennis Epperly and wife, Debbie; granddaughters, Sara Noell and husband, Evan and Sidney Epperly and fiancé, Jordan Wagoner; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Jack Noell; as well as her sister, Betty Pence and her husband, Billy.

Doris was a dedicated prayer warrior who prayed daily for her family and friends. She always greeted everyone with a heartfelt smile and a genuine concern for their wellbeing. Her health continued to decline in recent years; however, her optimism did not. She eagerly looked forward to her heavenly reunion with all the loved ones who had gone before her. That was her hope and joy.

The family will be honored to receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ken Nienke officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Epperly Family Cemetery in Elliston, Va.
