Doris Jean Brent

Doris Jeanne Brent (formerly Asselin) left us at age 90, in the city of Roanoke, Virginia. Doris passed away peacefully at home with family. Doris was Born to Helen and Stuart Asselin of Hackensack, New Jersey. Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda Franke: sons Peter, Edward and Donald Brent; and her grandchildren, Mia and Tucker Franke, Alyssa Brent and Christopher Brent. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Brent; brother, Stuart Asselin; her parents, Helen and Stuart Asselin; her aunt, Marguerite Asselin; her son, Robert Brent; and grandson, Alex Brent.

Doris will be remembered for her friendship, her smiles, and her faith. Doris was an avid reader and cherished libraries for good mysteries, and local history. Doris spent many years in Naples, Florida where she visited the community center daily for conversation and camaraderie and also attended her local Catholic Church. In her final years, Doris enjoyed word searches, puzzles done on her puzzle table, short walks, good food, trips to Starbucks and local restaurants. Doris loved her evening ice cream and occasionally a glass of Chianti. Doris will be remembered for her kindness and loving spirit.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, with Deacon Eric Surat officiating. Inurnment will be held privately at Naples Memorial Gardens in Naples, FL.

Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
