Doris 'Jeanne' Bowles

Doris J. Jeanne Bowles, 57, of Salem, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010. She was born in Hagerstown, MD, the daughter of Beatrice Arthur Bowles of Salem and the late James W. Bowles, Sr. and had been a Salem area resident for over 40 years. Jeanne was employed for many years at Billys Barn prior to retiring. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed NASCAR, football and cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister, Deborah Lucas and her husband Calvin; two brothers, James W. Bowles, Jr. and Edward R. Bowles; 4 nephews and 2 nieces as well as many many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Friday, December 31, 2010 in the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Whitey Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
